3. Essential account and security technologies

Know a Pro uses email-and-password authentication for user accounts. Strictly necessary cookies or similar browser technologies may be used to keep users signed in, maintain secure sessions, prevent abuse and protect the platform. These technologies may not be capable of being disabled through the site's preference tool because the relevant service may not function correctly without them.

• Google Tag Manager — tag management.
• Google Analytics 4 (GA4) — website analytics and performance measurement.
• Meta Pixel — advertising and conversion measurement where enabled.
• LinkedIn tracking technology — advertising and conversion measurement where enabled.

Depending on configuration, these services may process online identifiers, browser/device information, IP-related information, page and event data, referral or campaign information and other measurement information.

5. Your choices

Where Know a Pro offers cookie or privacy preference controls, visitors can use those controls to manage optional analytics and advertising technologies. Optional technologies will be handled in accordance with the site's implemented consent/preferences configuration.

Know a Pro's core website infrastructure, database, user uploads and backups are hosted using Amazon Web Services in the South Africa region. Analytics, advertising and other third-party technology providers may process certain measurement or technical information outside South Africa.

Where personal information is transferred to a recipient in another country, Know a Pro will address the applicable requirements of section 72 of POPIA and use an appropriate permitted transfer basis and safeguards where required.

8. Cookie names and durations

The exact cookie, browser-storage and technology names and their durations depend on the final production configuration and may change when providers or settings change. Know a Pro will not publish guessed names or expiry periods.

The technologies actually deployed and the available cookie/privacy controls may change as the website is updated. Where the website displays a detailed cookie list or preference interface through its consent tool, that live interface should be treated as the current technical inventory and can be used to revisit optional choices.
